2015 - WINNER

Smith Engineering voted winner of the University of Cumbria's Renewable Energy Test & Education Centre's award for 'Journey to Commercialisation' for the electricity generating waterwheel project at the Langdale Hotel and Spa.

2014 - WINNER

Managing Director, Rod Smith was presented with the Special Recognition Award for Sustainability from the University of Cumbria.  The award recognised Rod’s commitment to our staff and the company’s R&D work in electricity generating waterwheel technology.

2013 - WINNER

WallRover Ltd winners of the UK Nuclear Decommissioning Authority’s prestigious Minister’s Award for DrillRover wall climbing robot.  An innovative, hammer action drilling and debris collection system was designed and manufactured by Smith Engineering, allowing sampling for post laboratory analysis.   


2012 - WINNER

WallRover Ltd winners of the UK Nuclear Decommissioning Authority’s Innovation Award for their wall climbing robot, the A2.  Our involvement in the project included the design and manufacture of a number of components as well as the fabrication of a number of mock up intermediate waste level containers for use in trials of the vehicle.
